North Hills Sophomore Selected for Local Female Artist Showcase
The inaugural event looks to recognize emerging young female artists as they perform side-by-side with professional women from Pittsburgh's artistic community

North Hills High School sophomore Sydney Wolff has been chosen to perform in the first annual installment of Support Women Artists Now (SWAN) Day Pittsburgh Jr.
The inaugural event looks to recognize emerging young female artists as they perform side-by-side with professional women from Pittsburgh’s artistic community.
It is presented by the No Name Players and will be held on March 23 at 1 p.m. at the New Hazlett Theater in Pittsburgh’s North Side neighborhood. Tickets are $5 and doors open at 12:30 p.m.

SWAN Day Jr. is the child-friendly version of the original SWAN Day Pittsburgh, an international holiday founded in 2008 that honors women in the arts. SWAN Day features world premiere works by Pittsburgh’s top female musicians, dancers, poets, theatre and visual artists, filmmakers and fashion designers.
Sydney, a singer, musician and songwriter, will perform with more than 14 other young adults ages 10 and up during the event. She will sing and play original songs on guitar.

A singer and songwriter since fifth grade, she has played guitar for three years and is self-taught on piano, organ and ukulele.
She has been featured on the Saturday Light Brigade, a weekly radio program for children and adults broadcast from the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh. Her most recent performance is available online.
