WESTERN PENNSYLVANIA — Democratic incumbent Lindsey Williams defeated Republican challenger Lori Mizgorski and was reelected Tuesday to the Pennsylvania 38th District state Senate seat.

With 99.2 of the vote counted, Williams had 69,545 votes to Mizgorski's 55,689. All results are unofficial until verified by the Allegheny County elections division.

Williams, an attorney, recently told the League of Women Voters: "As minority chair of the
Senate Education Committee, I support a transparent system to fund our children’s education, from pre-K to college or trade. Education dollars must be spent fairly, transparently, and equitably to do the most good for the greatest number of students."
