Popular Pine-Richland crew coach is closing in on an Olympic dream.

The four-man Romanian team for which he rows is one of 12 that will compete in the Olympic finals on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. London time in Eton Dorney.

The Eton Dorney Rowing Centre at Dorney Lake is located around 25 miles west of London.

The race will be a tough one.

In the semi-finals today (Thursday), Great Britain came in first with a time of 5:58.26; Romania was in 12th with a 6:12.74 time.

But in the initial heats on Monday, the times were better for the Romanians—the team placed fifth with a 5:52:87 time.
