Popular Pittsburgh-Area Strawberry Festival Canceled

WEXFORD, PA — Soergel Orchards has announced the cancellation of this year's highly anticipated Strawberry Festival. The pick-your-own event had been scheduled for June 11.

"We understand the disappointment this news may bring, as the festival holds a special place in our hearts," a statement on the Soergel Facebook page stated.

"However, we have made this difficult decision after looking at our fields and the low number of berries they are producing. We don't feel like we can provide an experience that you have grown to love (and expect) while you're here."

Soergel did not rule out having a pop-up "pick your own" day at a later date. If that occurs, the event will be announced on social media, on the Soergel website and via emails.
