Road Rage Leads Man to Punch Woman in Face in Ross While Children Watched

The woman suffered a bruise and small cut to her face and was treated at the Ross Township Police Station by Ross / West View Emergency Medical Services.

Police said a 59-year-old man punched a woman in her 40s in the face in front of her two young children in a road-rage incident around 1 p.m. Friday near the intersection of Babock Boulevard and Cemetery Lane. 

Donald Finnegan, of Bellevue, is charged with simple assault, harassment, and careless driving after he pulled his vehicle over to the side of the road and confronted the woman, who had honked her car horn at him for not stopping or yielding the right-of-way while turning onto Cemetery Lane, police said.

The woman had parked her car behind him when he pulled over, police said.

Finnegan said "I'm sick of people doing this," before punching the woman through the open window of her car and driving off in his car, police said. The woman suffered a bruise and small cut to her face and was treated at the Ross Township Police Station by Ross / West View Emergency Medical Services.

The woman's two children, an 8-year-old and a 10-year-old, were in the car with her at the time of the incident, police said.

Finnegan was arrested, police said. He is being held at the Allegheny County Jail.
