Ross Gets New Police Chief, New Deputy Chief

The township police department received a major overhaul on Tuesday.

ROSS TOWNSHIP, PA — Former Pittsburgh police commander Cristyn Zett has been appointed the township's new police chief.

Zett previously was the commander of the city's Zone 6 West End station.

Zett replaces Joseph Ley, who has been the township police chief since 2016. Ley is retiring less than a year after the Ross Township Police Association took a no confidence vote in him. The vote was taken after revelations regarding a police sergeant's handling of a sexually explicit video
involving a North Hills High School student.
