A slithering snake was taken into custody on Independence Day in Ross.

ROSS TOWNSHIP, PA — Anyone missing a snake?
Perhaps seems like an odd question, but one that township police are asking after finding one of the elongated, limbless, carnivorous reptiles at Ross Community Park on Tuesday.

Reaction has poured in to the police department's Facebook page.
"The person who does own him doesn't deserve him.," David Kurta wrote. " Irresponsible people give our hobby a bad name. I can take it and add it to my collection of over 25 ball pythons."
