Ross Township Commissioners Waive Noise Ordinance for Road Work
The waiver is temporary for road construction work along Sample and Peebles Roads, which is scheduled to start next week.

The voted 7-1 Monday night to waive the township's noise ordinance to allow road construction work to continue as scheduled on Sample and Peebles Roads.
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, through A. Folino Construction Inc. of Oakmont, is planning drainage improvements and road resurfuring on Sample Road and Peebles Road starting July 5. The work may last a few weeks, depending on weather.
The work is required to be done between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. and 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. Monday through Friday. Although the majority of the work is being done in McCandless Township, some Ross residents may be affected.

In approving the waiver, Ross commissioners also required A. Folino Construction Inc., to notify all residents along both roads who may be affected.
Commissioner and board Vice President Grant Montgomery, who represents Ward 9, cast the lone dissenting vote.

He said he didn't recall the commission ever waiving the noise ordinace to allow road work "all night long."
