Shaffer Versus Deluzio: PA 17th Congressional District Results
Jeremy Shaffer and Chris Deluzio are competing for the 17th Congressional District seat.

ALLEGHENY COUNTY, PA — The polls have closed in the 17th Congressional race between former Ross commissioner Jeremy Shaffer and University of Pittsburgh employee Chris Deluzio.
As of 10:15 p.m. Deluzio had 133,531 votes, to Shaffer's 101,828.

Shaffer, a Republican, and Deluzio, a Democrat from Aspinwall, both were attempting to succeed outgoing Rep. Conor Lamb. He decided against running to retain his House seat in an unsuccessful bid to win the Democratic U.S. Senate race, losing to John Fetterman in the May primary.
Shaffer is an electrical engineer and small business owner and former board member of the Northland Library Foundation and Northern Tier Library. Deluzio works on cybersecurity issues at Pitt.

Deluzio recently told the League of Women Voters Pittsburgh branch: "We should be fighting for a
leaves no one behind, not a system that rewards corporations and the ultra wealthy. These are values that I will bring to Congress and guide my decisions."
