"Staying Cool" Contest Winner is Robyn Jenkins!

On Friday, July 22, readers sent in photos sharing how they were keeping cool as the heat index reached 105. North Hills Patch choose our favorite. The winner receives free ice cream at Bruster's.

When the heat index reached 105 Friday, July 22, a record for Pittsburgh, 2-year-old Blake Jenkins stayed cool with a giant ice cream cone.

"We love ice cream!" his mother, Robyn, wrote in her submission to our t.

The contest encouraged readers to send in photos of the creative ways they were keeping cool while the temperature soared.

Robyn and Blake will be sent a $25 gift card to on Lowries Run Road.
