Treasure Hunt Adds Store to McKnight Road Corridor
The Pittsburgh-based, family-run chain signed a lease last month for the new location and plans a soft opening at 10 a.m. today.

Treasure Hunt, a Pittsburgh-based collectable coins and jewelry chain, plans to open its newest store at 10 a.m. today at 7380 McKnight Road.
It will be the ninth location for the chain, which has retail outlets in Allison Park, Cranberry, the South Hills, Monroeville, Irwin, Belle Vernon, Latrobe and Indiana.
The lease was signed for the 2,000-square-foot space on McKnight—across from the J and next to —about a month ago, said Elisa Merrell, director of operations.

"In December, (the owners) were up in that area and decided it would be a good location," she said. "It came together very quickly."
The Ross Township Zoning Hearing Board on Wednesday approved a variance for the store to place its sign on a non-conforming pole on the property.

Friday's opening will be a soft opening, Merrell said.
Hours will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fridays and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays. Treasure Hunt will be closed Sundays.
The manager of the new store will be Brent Heitzenroder, Merrell said.
The store plans to employ about six, she said.
Besides sales, Treasure Hunt buys and trades rare coins and buys gold, silver, sterling silver, platinum and modern, vintage and estate jewelry.
A family-run business, it has been in the Pittsburgh area for about 50 years.
The addition is the second new commercial business for that section of McKnight Road. , in the Ross Towne Center, in the space that Office Depot formerly occupied.
