West View Water Authority Hiking Rates For 200,000 Customers

WEST VIEW, PA — The West View Water Authority has approved a rate hike to its customer service and volume consumption charges. The overall rate will increase by 4.1 percent.

It's the authority's first rate hike since 2018.

The authority supplies water to more than 200,000 customers in portions of Allegheny, Beaver and Butler counties. The communities it serves:

The authority said in a release that cost of volumetric consumption will increase to $7.22 per 1,000
gallons, which does not include the monthly customer charge. Considering the monthly customer charge the equivalent rate per 1,000 gallons would be $9.44, which the authority asserts is below average in comparison to other water providers in the area.
