Winter Weather Advisory: Updated Snow Forecast

The weather service is warning drivers of hazardous travel conditions.

Thus far, March is certainly doing its best to come in like a lion.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory in effect from 6 p.m. Tuesday through 7 p.m. Wednesday for the Pittsburgh region, including Ross Township and West View.

Snow accumulations of 3 to 5 inches are predicted, according to the weather service.

Forecaster say the storm will begin as rain Tuesday afternoon, then mix with snow, before changing over to all snow after 11 p.m. Tuesday.  The most intense snow could fall overnight Tuesday into Wednesday.

The weather could cause hazardous travel conditions due to snow-covered streets. Drivers should prepare for limited visibility on the roads.

Temperatures will reach a high of 40 degrees Tuesday before dropping to 30 later in the evening, according to the service.
