Work Expected to Slow Traffic on McKnight Road Bridge

Just a reminder that traffic restrictions are expected to begin Thursday and continue through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily. Depending on weather, of course.

Delays are expected Thursday, Feb. 9, through Saturday, Feb. 11, on McKnight Road at the bridge over Babcock Boulevard as work crews reduce traffic to single lane traffic to install bridge railing.

The work is dependent on the weather, and the schedule may change. Stay tuned to Patch for updates via Twitter @NorthHillsPatch or Facebook www.facebook.com/NorthHills Patch.

Restrictions will occur as needed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily. One northbound lane will remain open. Southbound traffic will not be affected.

Bridge preservation will also occur on the structure that carries McKnight Road over Babcock Boulevard. The work includes latex modified concrete deck surfacing, resetting rocker bearings, pedestrian railing repairs, concrete repairs, and other improvements. Overall work will conclude in the spring.
