WWE Superstar Visits Ross Elementary to Spread Anti-Bullying Message

Ross Elementary fourth, fifth and sixth-grade students were the only students in the Pittsburgh area visited by the program.

Ross Elementary students were recently treated to a special appearance from professional wrestler and WWE Superstar The Miz as part of the “Be A STAR Alliance” anti-bullying program.

Be A STAR” stands for “Show Tolerance and Respect,” and it was cofounded by The Creative Coalition and WWE. Its mission is to ensure a positive and equitable social environment for everyone regardless of age, race, religion and sexual orientation through grassroots efforts beginning with education and awareness.

Ross Elementary fourth, fifth and sixth-grade students were the only students in the Pittsburgh area visited by the program. The alliance visits schools across the country and utilizes WWE Superstars and Divas to spread the anti-bullying message.

A native of Cleveland, The Miz related to students his school days when he was bullied and teased for having large teeth, but how he never allowed those bullies to define him. The Miz encouraged them to stand up for their peers who are being bullied and be alert and aware of cyberbullying.

He told them of how he overcame the odds to star on MTV’s “The Real World: Back to New York” and used that platform to launch him to his dream job as a WWE Superstar. He urged students to follow his example and never give up striving for their dreams.
