Chiaro's Pizzeria Has Apologized For A Hidden Image Of A Naked Man That Appeared In An Ad

The restaurant said the naked imagery, appearing in a magazine that hit stands last week, was a "devastating" mistake.

MONTGOMERY & BUCKS CO.'s — Chiaro's Pizza & Restaurant issued an apology last week, after a rather inappropriate magazine advertisement for the local restaurant hit newsstands.

"We mailed the magazine out and when it hit homes on February 1, someone flipping through the magazine caught the image and immediately alerted Chiaro's and myself," Donna Olsen, the president of Community Connection Monthly magazine, told PhillyVoice.
When you look closely, imagery of a naked man is visible in latte foam pictured in the ad for Chiaro's.

Chiaro's said the image was absolutely unintentional, and issued an apology to the community:

We have been made aware of the situation regarding a recent ad, and unfortunately, neither us, or the Community Connections' proof readers caught the subtle nature of what we thought was a tasteful photo of a cappuccino. We deeply apologize for letting this slip by. None of our proof readers, The Community Connection proof readers, or the actual printer proofers caught the mistake before it was printed and circulated. We are working on making sure this does not happen again. We at Chiaro's pride ourselves on being a family oriented pizzeria and restaurant. This is a devastating situation for all of us involved as we are sure it has been for all of you. Please accept our sincerest apologies.

Most people seemed to find the mix-up funny, though.

The pizzeria's apology garnered nearly 1,000 comments and more than 300 shares on Facebook.
