Update: Montco's Code Blue Extended to Saturday

Cold temperatures pose a threat to vulnerable populations; the declaration will be in effect through Friday.

The Montgomery County Office of Communications released the following information:

The Montgomery County Commissioners, on the advice of the Montgomery County Health Department, are extending the Code Blue Cold Weather Emergency for Montgomery County based on a review of forecasts from the National Weather Service.
The Code Blue will remain in effect for the 24 hour period which begins at noon today until noon Saturday.

The Montgomery County Commissioners, on the advice of the Montgomery County Health Department, have declared a Code Blue Cold Weather Emergency for Montgomery County based on a review of forecasts from the National Weather Service.
The Code Blue will be for the 48-hour period which begins at noon today, Jan. 18, until noon Friday, Jan. 20.
A Code Blue Cold Weather declaration is made in Montgomery County when winter conditions pose a threat of serious harm or death to individuals without shelter. A Code Blue is called when the combination of air temperature and wind chill is anticipated to be 20º F or less.
