Proceeds from the event benefit the church.
crafts and rummage sale Saturday was an event fueled by generosity.
In an unofficial kickoff for the "Raise the Roof" efforts—the church needs to raise about $20,000 for a new roof—church members and outside vendors gave of their time, talents, money and gently-used items for the cause. A blood drive was held in conjunction with the event, and eligible attendees were invited to make a donation.
Peace in Zion's congregants contributed crafts and baked goods to help raise money, while the money that other vendors paid for their tables went toward the church. In addition to hand-carved toys, handmade blankets, accessories and doll clothes, treats, home decor items, refreshments and Christmas decorations, people could also get bargains on household items at the "Second Time Around Shop."
