Update: Drivers Injured in Vehicle Collision in Skippack
Pennsylvania State Police are still gathering information.
Two men were transported to area hospitals following a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Skippack Pike/Route 73 and Old Forty Foot Road in Skippack around 6:30 a.m. Friday.
One of the drivers—James Maychoff, 53, of Schwenksville—was medevaced to Paoli Hospital after Skippack Fire Co. volunteers cut him free from a Jeep Grand Cherokee. Maychoff regained consciousness at the scene, according to authorities.
Harleysville Area EMS transported the other driver—John Smoczylo, 56, of Upper Merion—to the hospital. He appeared to be conscious.

There were no passengers in either vehicle.
According to a Pennsylvania State Police report, Waychoff was attempting to make a left turn onto Old Forty Foot Road from Route 73. At the same time, Smoczylo was traveling west on Route 73 in a 2007 Chevy Trailblazer. Although both cars had a green light, police said Smoczylo had the right of way. Waychoff made the left turn in front of Smoczylo, according to the police report, and the vehicles had a near head-on collision.

Source One Auto Group towed the cars from the scene.
Skippack Fire Co., Skippack EMS, Harleysville Area EMS, Pennsylvania State Police and Worcester Volunteer Fire Co. responded to the crash.
