Evergreen Elementary Chorus Hits the Airwaves

Students perform their winning song on the B101 morning show.

The following was submittted by Kathleen Malchitsky:

Thirty-eight students from the “award winning” Evergreen Elementary School's Fifth Grade Chorus woke up at 4 a.m. Monday to perform live on the B101 radio station’s morning show with DJs Tiffany and Michael.

The chorus (90 members strong) r, receiving a check for $5000.00 and a chance to perform live with Peter Nero and the Philly Pops.  Fire codes permitted a maximum of 50 students to perform at the Kimmel Center, however, B101 graciously invited the remaining members to perform live at their studio.

The students were very excited meet the station personnel, the B101 Bee, and a representative from Mercedes-Benz, who provided the $5,000 prize.

It has truly been an amazing trip for the Chorus, Mrs. Myren, and Evergreen Elementary!
