The final vote count was "incredibly close," according to B101 morning show hosts Mike Chew and Tiffany Hill, but Evergreen Elementary's Fifth Grade Chorus won first place in the radio station's Christmas Choir Competition. Evergreen will receive $5,000 for the music program and will get to perform with Peter Nero and the Philly Pops at the Kimmel Center.
Hill and Chew called Director Robin Myren to give her the good news.
"I'm so proud of them!" Myren said excitedly about her students. She said the grouop is made of up 90 children, and they had only one rehearsal before recording "Blitzen's Boogie" as their contest entry.

“All the schools that auditioned they were amazing, so it’s truly an honor to have won,” she said.
The Keith Valley Middle School Seventh and Eighth Grade Chorus came in second, and the Our Lady of Mount Carmel School Choir placed third.
