If you were outdoors between rain showers today, maybe you noticed something other than looming clouds in the sky. Today around 2:30 p.m., residents of Perkiomen Valley could look to the great blue yonder and notice something rather unusual.
Flying over the area was the famed Goodyear blimp. The icon of the international tire and rubber company has been skyward since the company's start in 1925.
Today, the company operates three blimps in the United States, including airships the "Spirit of America," based in the City of Carson; the "Spirit of Goodyear," based in Akron, OH; and the "Spirit of Innovation," based in Pompano Beach, FL.
