Local Sporting Goods Chain Offers $10 NFL Jersey Insurance

The deal allows Schuylkill Valley Sports customers to replace jerseys of NFL players traded or cut for half off the new jersey.

Frequent trades, free agency and cutting players during training camp, a team in the National Football League can constantly change rosters. The owners of the Schuylkill Valley Sports chain of sporting goods stores is giving those fans who rush out to find their favorite player’s jersey an opportunity to make sure it can be replaced without completely obliterating their wallets.

According to the chain’s website, for the purchase of $10 insurance, customers who buy, for example, a Tim Tebow jersey now can receive a 50 percent discount on a new jersey of equal or lesser value if Tebow ends up getting traded or cut from the Philadelphia Eagles.

The insurance is valid for 18 months from when the original jersey is purchased and cannot be bought on jerseys that are on clearance. The discount is for in-stock jerseys only and cannot be used for special orders. It also excludes retired or injured players, and the customer can keep the original jersey.
