Emergency Crews Extricated A Motorist From A Vehicle Following A Wednesday Afternoon Crash

The motorist who was pulled from a mangled vehicle was transported to a local hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.

COLLEGEVILLE, PA — A motorist was hospitalized after being pulled from a mangled car following a vehicle crash in Collegeville Borough on Wednesday afternoon.

Emergency crews responded to a report of a vehicle accident a little after 4:30 p.m. Wednesday along Second Avenue in front of the Collegeville Shopping Center.

Montgomery County Incident Alerts stated that there was a motor vehicle accident with entrapment and that one person was confirmed stuck inside the vehicle who needed to be removed.

The Collegeville Fire Company posted to social media that the individual was extricated from the vehicle and transported to the hospital by Trappe Fire Company ambulance.

Fire Police officials from the Lower Providence Fire Company assisted with directing traffic at the scene.

Photos from the accident scene that were posted to social media showed that there appeared to be extensive damage to the four-door sedan that was involved in the crash.

Debris is seen strewn about the roadway and included a front bumper, shards of glass and even a coil spring from the vehicle's suspension system.

There was no immediate word on what may have caused the accident and whether or not anyone else who was involved may have been injured.
