Perkiomen Township Man Shoots, Kills Mother And Brother: DA

Police said the man called the FBI to report himself shortly after the incident.

PERKIOMEN TOWNSHIP, PA — A Perkiomen Township man killed his mother and brother inside his home on Sunday afternoon and then called the FBI to report himself, the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office announced Monday.

Aaron Deshong, 49, faces multiple counts of first degree murder in the deaths of Wanda Deshong, 74, who lived at the home with Aaron, and Adam Deshong, 53, of Devon.

The incident occurred at around 5:00 p.m. on Sept. 24 at the home on the 700 block of Gravel Pike.

Deshong shot his mother in the head and his brother multiple times, the autopsy report states. A total of four shots were fired from a Smith and Wesson .38 caliber revolver.

Deshong placed a call to the FBI Threat Assessment Center in the afternoon and "indicated he may have hurt his family," the DA's Office said.

Circumstances leading up to the shooting remain unclear.

Deshong was booked at Montgomery County Correctional Facility, and no bail is available for first degree murder charges.

A preliminary hearing date will be set at the upcoming arraignment hearing.
