Pottstown Woman Arrested on Suspicion of DUI After Crash in Perkiomen

Pennsylvania State Police released the following information. A report does not indicate a conviction; all accused are innocent until proven guilty.

Jeanne Patton, 59, of Pottstown is accused of driving under the influence around 2 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, police said.
According to a report, Patton was driving south on Route 113 “when she failed to properly negotiate a left curve in the road. Patton drove straight off the west edge of the road, went down a small embankment” and hit the pole. A PECO spokesman Sunday said about 1,800 customers were left without power after the crash.
While being interviewed at the scene, Patton allegedly showed signs of being under the influence of alcohol, the report states. Patton was arrested for DUI after being given field sobriety tests, according to police.
Personnel from Perkiomen Fire Co. and Trappe Fire and EMS also responded to the scene.
A portion of 113 was closed Sunday morning while PECO crews repaired the pole.

Another Smash-and-Grab Theft Under Investigation
Pennsylvania State Police are asking for information regarding a purse stolen from a car in the first block of Plank Road in Perkiomen Township, Dec. 1.
According to a police report, the passenger-side window was broken and the purse stolen from a front seat; the approximate total value is $375.

Men Suspected in Lower Frederick Theft Case
Three area men have been named suspects in connection with property damage incidents and burglaries – – according to a Pennsylvania State Police report.
Brandon McGuigan, 18, and Timothy Kelchner Jr., 19, both of East Greenville and Derek Jaworski, 20, of Palm, are being held at the Montgomery County Correctional Facility in connection with burglary and thefts from motor vehicles, according to a Pennsylvania State Police press release. Additional charges will be filed in District Court 38-2-02.
Pennsylvania State Police of the Skippack Barracks and Upper Perkiomen Police District conducted a joint investigation of incidents in which more than 25 homes and motor vehicles were damaged by BB gun pellets, the report states. The three young men are alleged to have perpetrated these incidents, as well as commercial burglaries.
According to a police report, an unknown person (or people) smashed the front window of US Gas on 1463 North Gravel Pike, Lower Frederick, shortly before 2 a.m. Nov. 13. Several packs of cigarettes were reported stolen.

Investigation Continues in Connection with Suspected Drug Paraphernalia
According to a Pennsylvania State Police report, SCI Graterford members found “a scale with suspected marijuana residue” while performing a consent search on a 26-year-old Norristown woman’s vehicle.
The investigation is pending lab results, the report states.
