Home and School President Pam Kirkman provided the following information about this past Monday's (March 12) blood drive. Last year was the first-ever drive organized for donors from the Skippack Elementary School community. This year, Kirkman stated the drive was open to the entire Perkiomen Valley School district, and had to had "turn away some donors because we could not accommodate them.
"We had 42 donors sign in and 34 donations made!"
• "We are extremely proud that we have made this an annual event. It feels great to live in such a caring community. I feel our community always comes forward when someone is in need. We are so proud of the men and women who took time out of their busy schedule to donate their blood.
Thirty-four donations equals 102 lives saved!"
• "We would like to thank Skippack Township for allowing us to use to hold our drive. We do not have the space at our elementary school. We would also like to thank Bruster's Ice Cream. They supplied us with a coupon for a free ice cream to every donor.
"Special thanks to the five teachers from Skippack Elementary who donated this year. One of them was a first-time donor!
"I would also like to thank Tammy Roop, our blood drive chairperson. She went above and beyond her duties to host this event."
