PV School Board Recognizes Student Artists, Musicians

Honorees include festival of the arts winners, band, choir and orchestra festival participants

The is proud to recognize seven Perkiomen Valley School District students who received first-place awards in the Collegeville Women’s Club Festival of the Arts held in February. There were 67 submissions from Perkiomen Valley schools. The first-place winners include:

  • Natalia Toscano, from , for color photography
  • Emma Mantey, from the , for black and white photography
  • Kendra Spilman, from the , for color photography
  • Cole Thear, from , for his watercolor painting
  • Elizabeth Land, from , for her pastel and marker drawing
  • Jessica Rittenhouse, from , for her colored pencil drawing
  • Raelyn McAfee, from the , for her self-portrait in oil paint

The Perkiomen Valley Board of School Directors would also like to recognize a group of high school students for musical achievements. Perkiomen Valley School District was represented very well at recent PMEA District 11 Band, Choir and Orchestra festivals. Students must be selected to participate in these events through a rigorous audition process that involves competing against students from other high schools in our area for a limited number of spots. Honorees include:

  • Abby Benecke, flute
  • Sarah Fonda, flute
  • Ben Basalik, string bass
  • Lillian Swei, violin
  • Megan Wong, violin
  • Melissa Mantey, bass
  • Victoria Lang, choir
  • Sarah Hart, choir
  • Danielle Wynne, choir
