PV School Officials Respond to Intruder at Skippack Elementary
No child was involved in the Dec. 13 incident.

School officials notified parents of a man who entered the school, uninvited, the morning of Dec. 13. No child was involved or harmed during the incident.
The following is an excerpt of an e-mail from Principal Kim Boyd:
“Shortly after most of our students had arrived for the school day, staff members who were returning inside from bus duty noticed a man entering the school building. Immediately, staff members escorted the individual, who was not a parent, to the front office. Our employees contacted the , school resource officers and district operations staff to make them aware of the intruder. The individual left without incident shortly after.
“It is important to note that this individual did not have any contact with our students and that we resolved the situation promptly. The safety of our students and staff is of utmost importance, and I am proud of the way our staff immediately addressed this situation to ensure that our building remains a safe place to learn.”

The district’s Director of Communications Jessica Lester stated in an e-mail that the man was reportedly putting fliers on cars in the parking lot and asked to use the lavatory after coming into the building.
“As a result of this incident, the district’s head of security and our operations director did meet with the building principal to review and discuss the district’s response,” Lester wrote. “The district often debriefs after situations like these to determine whether or not current procedures and policies are effective.”
