Rain Helps Control Small Fire in Skippack

Chimney fire broke out Thursday evening

A chimney fire at an Evansburg Road home in Skippack was quickly extinguished after breaking out around 9:15 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 12.

According to Chief Haydn Marriott IV, embers from the two-story home's chimney caught fire, but the rain-soaked roof helped keep the situation from escalating.

The home was not damaged, and no one was injured, Marriott said.
