For nearly four decades, Strawoet has guided students in the classroom and on the court
The following is from the Perkiomen Valley School District website:
The School Board (recognized) Coach John Strawoet, a retired Perkiomen Valley School District teacher who has given back to our community by serving as a coach for various student athletic teams. He is being honored for his outstanding record as the Perkiomen Valley High School ninth-grade girls basketball coach.
His history of coaching winning teams extends back to the 2008-09 school year, when the girls were 8-3. The following year, the girls team finished 9-3 and won its last two games. That led into a 25-game winning streak and two back-to-back, undefeated seasons in 2010-11 and 2011-12.
