"The 24th is where I grew up, met my wife, am raising a family and began two small businesses," Fountain,33, posted on his campaign Facebook page. "This is my home and my plan is to make it an even greater place to live and work. I look forward to hitting the pavement and meeting voters from across the district!"
According to his campaign website, Fountain is a lifelong resident of Skippack Township who is a graduate of Perkiomen Valley High School and studied elementary education and history at Temple University.

Fountain, whose father, Don Fountain, was elected to the Perkiomen Valley School Board in November, joined the Skippack Township Board of Supervisors in 2013.
Don Fountain spent a career in education and his son followed suit.
A press release from Nick Fountain's campaign says that he opened the Magnolia Enrichment Center in June 2020 and the Magnolia Children's Academy in August 2021. There are plans to open a third location this year.
During his time on the board of supervisors, Fountain voted to cut taxes by 33 percent, he worked to preserve and protect the township's open space and historic landmarks, and he showed support for local first responders by helping to pass an ordinance declaring active volunteer firefighters tax exempt at the local level, according to his campaign website.
Fountain is married to his wife, Nancy, and the couple has two children. Nancy had another son prior to meeting Fountain.
"Skippack Township and Montgomery County has been home for Nick and his family," his campaign site states. "He has been humbled by the support of his neighbors and strives to continue doing what is best for our small part of the world."
In the news release, Fountain says that with a likely crowded primary field for the open Senate seat, he expects to face a challenger in both May and November, but says that he welcomes the opposition.
"I'm a strong believer in welcoming opposing points of view into the conversation for the good of our electoral process," Fountain said in a statement. "I am confident that my experience running for office previously, track record of cutting taxes as an Elected Official and understanding of what's facing small businesses in our District will resonate with the voters."
Fountain says that his experiences as a "husband, father, business owner, Elected Official and candidate for higher office have all weighed heavily in this decision. In each of those roles, my motivation has been to do right by those who are counting on me — my run for Senate will be no different."
