Small Fire at Revolutionary War Encampment in Skippack

No injuries or major property damage reported.

As the Skippack Historical Society got the ovens going for the second day of the annual Revolutionary War encampment, a small crack in one of the ovens ignited some wood on the wall, causing a small fire, shortly after 10 a.m. Sunday, according to Haydn Marriott IV.

Re-enactors were allowed to remain on the scene as Skippack and Worcester fire crews worked. No one was injured, and the fire was quickly extinguished.

The Revolutionary War Encampment is taking place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 9.
