Sports Round-Up: Scores, Ursinus Grad Retires from Coach Post
Beth Anders has had a distinguished career; narrow victory for girls basketball
graduate Beth Anders on Tuesday announced her retirement from Old Dominion University, where she spent 29 seasons "at the helm of the field hockey program," according to the ODU Athletics website.
She's made NCAA history with 546 career wins, the website article states, and as a field hockey player she has participated in World Cup and Olympic events.
Anders is quoted as saying, "'“I leave a program with student-athletes who are strong and in a great position to continue ODU’s tradition. I believe in the players and I will miss them, but I leave them with a great foundation.'”
