Ursinus President Bobby Fong Shows Off Baseball Collection

He is within 99 cards of having complete sets of every regular-issued Topps baseball card since 1951.

While Bobby Fong’s interest in baseball as a child initially served as a way for the son of Chinese immigrants to integrate with American society, it has turned into quite a collection, according to the Times Herald.

“I raised my hand in class one day and asked, ‘What’s baseball?’” Fong told Mike Morsch of the Journal Register Service. “After the laughter died down, my teacher said to me, ‘Bobby, if you want to understand American life, you need to learn about baseball.’ And I’ve been overcompensating ever since."
