Summer Fling Wine Event at —Sunday, 2-4 p.m.: This event will introduce three new wines, a new Sangria wine jelly and a new Wine-A-Rita. Order over the phone before they sell out. Call 412-835-3246 ext. 114. Tickets are $20.
New Math Curriculum Seeks Approval at School Board Meeting—Monday, 7:30 p.m.: A note was sent to parents via email regarding Superintendent Nina Zetty's recommendation for the math department's request to begin rolling out a different math series next year, one year ahead of the scheduled curriculum cycle. Then, Gov. Corbett's budget cuts put a hold on changes. Zetty has asked the new Peters Township Education Foundation to consider a $10,000 donation to the district as their first project. According to the district, the math teachers have been asked to start writing the curriculum and textbooks are on Monday's agenda for approval.
Cooking Club to Host Free Cooking Demonstration—Thursday, July 7, 7 p.m.: Gina Snyder and Chef Maggie Hatten of will host a free cooking demonstration and discussion. Advance registration is required. To register email programs@ptlibrary.com or call 724-941-9430 by Friday, July 1.

Washington County Commissioner Bracken Burns to Visit the Library for Story Time, Saturday, July 9, 1-2 p.m.: Burns will share his favorite children's stories, followed by a craft for all ages. Register to attend in the children's department or call 724-941-9430.
Burns has served as Washington County Commissioner since 1996. Not seeking a fifth term, this is his final year in office.

Healthy Body, Health Home, Health Planet, Saturday, July 9, 10 a.m.: The GO Green Club will host this workshop, a partnership project between Pennsylvania Resources Council and The University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute's Center for Environment Oncology. Attendees will learn how to make their own cleaning products and personal care products, toxins to avoid, and how and what to cook with to keep you healthy.
All attendees will receive a green cleaning start kit! Cost to attend is $20 per person or $25 per couple. Registration is required through the "Programs" page on the PA Resources Council website or call Sarah Alessio Shea at 412-488-7490 ext. 236.
