Clarks’ Frontman Scott Blasey Returns to Rock the Library
Singer and songwriter Scott Blasey, of the legendary Pittsburgh-based rock band, set to perform Sunday in Peters.

Lead vocals of The Clarks and Peters resident Scott Blasey will perform a family-friendly “” concert Sunday at 7 p.m. at the . He participated in the event two years ago and he’s thrilled to do so again.
“I’m happy to help in the community,” he said. “I really enjoyed myself. The kids were singing and we raised money for the library,” Blasey said, in regard to his library performance two years ago.
The Clarks play 40 shows a year with a concentration during the spring and summer time, he said. As for his solo career, he plays an annual 60 shows. Needless to say, he’s a busy man.

“The band focuses on county fairs and bigger venues, which allows me to play these smaller venues around western Pa.,” he said. “I play a lot of Clarks’ stuff, but I also play more cover songs and a lot of the solo material I’ve written. It’s a very different show. I tend to tell a lot more stories; it’s more conversational and personal.”
Blasey moved back to Pittsburgh four years ago from Texas and believe you me, he has no regrets whatsoever.

“I love Peters Township,” he said. “I’ve been a city guy—I lived in Highland Park for 15 years, then had my first two daughters in Dallas, Texas. I never thought I’d live in the suburbs. I just love it here. It’s so beautiful.”
As for his favorite locale?
“. Every time we go on the trail we stop,” he said. “We’re big fans of the library, too. It’s such a great library for kids.”
Blasey said he appreciates that Peters is close to the city, but far enough away.
“We have a big backyard,” he said. “I love that my daughters can watch the corn grow and see horse farms. Our neighbors are wonderful. People in this community have been so great. We’ve made so many new friends here.”
