McMurray Elementary Holds Annual Career Fair
Local professionals spoke to students during the school's annual career day.
Twenty-four professionals spoke to fourth, fifth and sixth-graders at , Feb. 11, during the annual career fair, organized by counselors Brenda Gruhn and Stephanie Svilar.
Classes voted on which presenters to visit and a schedule was built around their votes, according to Gruhn.
"This year’s Career Day was a huge success!" Gruhn said. "The students had many hands-on experiences, including petting the pet therapy dog, helping the chef to make food, holding the probation officer’s handcuffs, and shackles, and adjusting the chiropractor’s model spine," she said.

The students rotated among professionals' presentations, including a veterinarian, a chef, a federal government special agent, a news anchor, an engineer, a pilot and a voice instructor throughout the morning program.
"We are already looking forward to next year’s Career Day!" Gruhn said.
