Patch Pet of the Month: Meet Tillie

Do you have room in your heart and home for Tillie?

If a mad scientist were to mash-up a coonhound, camel and cow, the concoction created might look something like Tillie!

With her sway-back posture, two-tone markings and long, floppy ears, Tillie is quite a unique figure among the dogs at Angel Ridge Animal Rescue. Found running in a field with siblings, Millie and Billy (both since adopted), Tillie is still waiting for her forever home.

With her big brown eyes, children know instantly that Tillie loves being around them, accepting their hugs sweetly and gently with joy on her face.

This middle-aged matriarch shares a kennel with a senior male lab mix and you can see her often perched atop her dog house surveying all the activity with great interest. She is a bit persnickety with some of the other female dogs, but clearly can adapt to another laid-back dog. Tillie could use a brush-up on crate training, but would surely catch on quickly with more bathroom opportunities afforded to her.

She will walk as much as you want, but does not demand a whole lot of exercise—perfect for most couch potatoes. Meet Tillie and you will be charmed by this funny cartoon-looking dog.

Tillie is a sponsored dog at Angel Ridge Animal Rescue. Angel Ridge has a two-week foster-to-adopt program that helps you determine if Tillie or any new pet is the right match for your family.
