Peters Township HS Student Charged With Giant Eagle Fuel Perks Thefts

A Peters Township High School student stole people's identities to use their Giant Eagle fuel perks points, authorities said.

PETERS TOWNSHIP, PA — A Peters Township high school student was arrested and is facing nearly 60 criminal counts in connection to the theft of Giant Eagle fuel perks information.

Paul Kostanich, 18, is accused of stealing $677 in fuel perks points and using them for his own gas.

WPXI-TV reported that Kostanich used internet sites to obtain email addresses and passwords for 19 different accounts to cash in fuel perks for his own vehicle at GetGo locations.

According to WPXI, an Ohio woman alerted Giant Eagle when she contact the supermarket chain to inform them her points had disappeard.

Court records indicate Kostanich is charged with multiple counts of theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property and accessing a device issued to another who did not authorize the use.
