Spotlight: Peters Students Shine in Higher Education Arena

These three local students were honored by their respective colleges and universities.

Today the spotlight is on these three college students—originally from McMurray—who have been lauded and rewarded by the schools they are attending.

  • Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, has awarded Meghan Nee, of McMurray, an undergraduate spring research fellowship. Nee, a junior, will study "The Effect of Media on the Perception of College Students Toward the Use of Cognitive Stimulants." The work will be supervised by Dawn Blasko.
  • Chelsea Louise Benson of McMurray, has been named to the Dean's List at Bethany College in West Virigina for the fall 2012-13 semester. Benson, a junior education major is the daughter of Robert and Tracie Benson. Those named to the Dean's List must have earned a grade-point average of 3.65 or better for the semester while completing a minimum of 12 graded credits.
  • Andrea J. Briggs of McMurray has been named to the McDaniel College fall 2012 Dean's List with highest honors. Highest honors are earned for a semester grade point average of 3.90 or higher, high honors for a grade point average of 3.70-3.89, and honors for a 3.50-3.69 average.
