The Goddard School Recommended for Middle States Accreditation

Owners Bob and Lori Santo say they're dedicated to making the school as good as it can be.

Following a visit from the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools, is being recommended for accreditation.

The team spent a week in February at the school verifying policies and practices within, according to a release. They also spent considerable time interviewing faculty, administrators and parents of students.

The school underwent a self-study in 2010 to identify its measurement along the 12 rigid MSA standards of excellence. The school must also demonstrate a continuous improvement model by using the self-study to identify areas for improvement and associated long-term action plans for getting there.

The owners, Bob and Lori Santo, are dedicated to making the school as good as it can be.

"It is yet another third-party oversight of quality that we want to hold our school to," said Lori, in a statement. "We already are licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Education."

The Goddard School's franchisor, Goddard Systems, Inc., also requires the highest standards in the areas of health and safety, curriculum and program/program support, she said.

MSA is a well-regarded organization that schools aim at excellence through their organization's third-party review. The 12 standards of achievement, continuous improvement plan and peer review all combine to be another means of quality assurance for the community.

The MSA Board of Directors will be meeting in the fall, and the accreditation package for The Goddard School in Peters will be part of that agenda.
