Warmer Temperatures On the Way After Thursday Morning's Record Low

Warmer temperatures are on the way after Pittsburgh experienced a record low temperature Thursday morning.

The National Weather Service in Moon Township recorded an unofficial low temperature of 19 degrees at Pittsburgh International Airport at 6 a.m., which broke the record low of 20 degrees in 1954, according to the Post-Gazette.

The high temperature is in the 50s, with the mercury hitting the 60s on Sunday.

• Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 54. Northwest wind 5 to 15 mph.
• Friday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 28. North wind 5 to 9 mph becoming calm in the evening.
• Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 56. Light east wind becoming south 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon.
• Saturday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 45.
• Sunday: A chance of showers after 7am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 63. Chance of precipitation is 50 percent.
• Sunday Night: A chance of showers.
