10 Candidates Will Run For Phoenxiville Area School Board In November

The top five vote-getters in the Democratic and Republican primaries will compete in November for five open seats.

PHOENIXVILLE, PA —Ten candidates will run in the November election to fill five open seats on the Phoenixville Area School District school board.

The district covers 22 square miles and consists of the borough of Phoenixville, and East Pikeland and Schuylkill townships. It has 32,000 residents.

The district has one high school, one middle school, and three elementary schools, Barkley, Manavon, and Schuylkill, and is in the process of constructing a fourth off Hares Hill Road, East Pikeland Township.

The district is also in the process of redistricting to accommodate a projected increase in students due to massive development.

The school board is also in the process of hiring a new superintendent to replace Dr. Alan Fegley who is retiring at the end of the summer

The top five vote-getters in the Republican and Democratic parties will compete in the general election in November.


Top Five Democrats of 12 on the ballot

  • Stephanie Allen: an incumbent, 2779 votes, amounting to 17.29 percent
  • Sean Halloran: 2,638 votes amounting to 16.41 percent.
  • Graham Perry: 2,311 votes, amounting to 14.38 percent.
  • Frank Venezia: 2,266 votes, amounting to 14 percent; 558 Republican votes, amounting to 6.5 percent
  • Daniel S. Wiser: 2,055 votes, amounting to 12.78 percent; 392 Republican votes, amounting to 4.5 percent.

Top Five Republican Candidates out of 9 on the ballot

  • Megan Valencia: 1,412 votes, amounting to 16.4 percent, 709 Democratic votes, amounting to 4.4 percent.
  • Emily Shanley: 1389 votes, amounting to 17.17 percent; 686 Democratic votes, amounting to 4.2 percent
  • David Golberg: 1356 votes, amounting to 15.9 percent; 377 Democratic voters, amounting to 2.3 percent
  • Kurt Siso: 1,283 votes, amounting to 14.9 percent
  • Prince Denson: 1,202 votes, amounting to 14 percent; 263 Democratic voters, amounting to 1.6 percent
