4 Hospitalized After 4-Vehicle Crash In Phoenixville
A major crash at one of the area's busiest intersections put four people in the hospital and damaged a nearby building, officials said.
PHOENIXVILLE, PA — Four vehicles were involved in a crash that left several people hospitalized and backed up traffic for hours in Phoenixville Tuesday.
The incident occurred at 11:24 a.m. on Nutt Road (Route 23) near the intersection with Route 29 and Main Street.
Exact circumstances of what led to the accident remain unclear, but an SUV and a box truck were involved in the initial crash, the Phoenixville Fire Department said.

The vehicles then struck another car and a trailer, according to officials, and the car was slammed into the side of the Carter's Automotive building.
Four individuals taken to Phoenixville Hospital in unknown condition. All were in vehicles involved in the crash, and there were no injuries to pedestrians or individuals inside Carter's Automotive, officials said.

Firefighters removed debris and fluids from the road and were on scene for about an hour. Traffic was backed up for some time at the always busy crossroads.
Carter's Automotive was damaged during the crash, and was inspected by code enforcement officers after the accident was cleared.
Valley Forge Volunteer Fire Company and West End Fire Company assisted Phoenixville on the scene.
