Back To School: Phoenixville Area Schools 2021-22 School Calendar

PHOENIXVILLE, PA — Back-to-school planning is happening in Phoenixville Area School District now, with calendars available to help parents prepare for the first day in WCASD, and info on policies as school starts.

The first day of school for most students in the Phoenixville area is Aug. 30.

Heading into the upcoming school year, some dates are subject to change as the coronavirus pandemic nears its year-and-a-half point.

PASD is offering two instructional options for the upcoming school year, but the PASD Education Task Force told parents it is not recommending all virtual instruction for Grades K – 2 because of the educational needs of younger children.

PASD parents and guardians may choose five-day-a-week in-person instruction that will represent a traditional school setting, while still following the health and safety recommendations of the Chester County Health Department.

The all-virtual instruction will be entirely online with an assigned teacher different than the in-person teacher, the District explained.

A big question in school communities is masks — and if they will be required. The Phoenixville Area School District said it will continue to follow guidance and all protocols from the Chester County Health Department.

As students return, one of the District's steps to keep everyone safe, it stated, is to require everyone entering the building to complete a form stating they agree to follow the safety protocols, including wearing masks. Pennsylvania Department of Health Guidance issued July 27 can be read here.

First Day: Aug. 30

Labor Day: Sept. 6 with no school Sept. 7

Thanksgiving Break: Nov. 25-26 with parent-teacher conferences Nov. 22-23 and teacher in-service Nov. 24

Winter Break: Dec. 24-31

Spring Break: April 11-15

Last Day: June 10
