Bob Sirois - Aspen Mountain Christmas - The start of a great new holiday tradition!
The sixth Christmas music release from this talented artist - with a little help from his friends - that showcase the songs of the season...

Regular readers of this space may recall the name Bob Sirois - Especially when these holiday music reviews run at this time of year... Bob's Christmas releases have been reviewed here on more than one occasion - The reason? That's easy! An outstanding collection of songs as well as spot-on performances that constantly keep his records in our holiday music rotation each and every Christmas season...
Aspen Mountain Christmas is Bob's sixth Christmas release (by our count) and began with A Hometown Christmas back in 2002 & focused mostly on the music from John Denver's Rocky Mountain Christmas... Most folks know that I'm a HUGE fan of all things JD, so I fell hard and fast when I heard that debut from Sirois! What followed were Dreams of Christmas in 2005, A Christmas Melody in 2008, his own collection called Rocky Mountain Christmas in 2009, Twilight, The Magic of Christmas in 2022, and now this collection of tunes for 2025. If there is a thread that runs through all of these albums, it's a thread of intelligently chosen songs - from holiday standards to contemporary favorites to a few new originals that all share the same quality of performance and musicianship making each release a very special & wonderful listening experience!
This 16-track Aspen Mountain Christmas continues that tradition with its wonderful orchestration of Christmas music containing a delicate blend of acoustic guitars and symphonic orchestration. While remaining true to his Folk/Acoustic roots, Bob has successfully composed/arranged another CD that offers a far more produced sound reminiscent of timeless productions. This newest release contains a diverse selection of beautifully orchestrated holiday favorites from all eras of music and is destined to become a staple in every holiday collection.

Highlights on this latest release include the Steve Weisberg penned / John Denver classic "Christmas for Cowboys," which is (for me) possibly the best Christmas song written in last fifty years or so - Also included in here is a wonderfully melancholy take on "I'll Be Home for Christmas," and a solid version of Dan Fogelberg's "Same Old Lang Syne." The latest track to be released from this collection, "Icicle," will be released worldwide on all streaming platforms in a couple of days...
