Bridge To Be Replaced In Schuylkill Twp., Road Closed For Weeks
The closure will last for much of the summer and all traffic will be detoured 24/7.

SCHUYLKILL TOWNSHIP, PA — Construction to replace a key bridge in Schuylkill Township will shut down a roadway for much of the summer, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced.
Construction on the bridge that carries Valley Park Road over Anderson Brook will begin June 23.
It's expected to continue through Friday, Aug. 29.

Work will involve replacing the existing bridge with a precast reinforced concrete box culvert. An approach guiderail will be installed along Valley Park Road and painted brown.
The $1.4 million project, which is financed fully with federal funds, will keep the roadway closed 24/7.

Drivers will be detoured to Whitehorse Road, Valley Forge Road, and Ferry Lane.
Lobar Site Development Corporation is the general contractor for the project.
