Chester County inspectors found violations in restaurants in Phoenixville in December.

PHOENIXVILLE, PA — Health inspectors paid visits to numerous establishments in Phoenixville during the first two weeks of December.

Inspectors found some establishments in violation of health codes set by the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture.

  • Avlo’s, 258 Bridge St.: open bags of dry goods in the basement area, no sanitizer strips, and a wall panel damaged in the restroom.
  • Conshohocken Brewing Company, 22 Bridge St.: The person in charge is not familiar with food safety, food handlers not washing hands, milk is stored with an expired date, salmon uncovered, food in coolers uncovered, dishwasher not properly sanitized, shelves and surfaces not clean, water overflowing under food prep sink, trash in floor of bathroom, raw cement exposed, no sign requiring hand washing, and more.
  • Delic U. Inc.: 514 Kimberton Road: 4 violations: back door propped open, sauce not heated at proper temperature, items stored on the floor, mop sink blocked.
  • Wawa, 210 Kimberton Road: 3 violations: Cappuccino machine has grime built up, sink temperature is too low, grim, spills and debris in prep areas, floor, freezer, and cabinets.
  • Dunkin Donuts, 288 Nutt Road: sinks need cleaning and sanitizing, dust debris on vents, debris on floor edges, under table legs, shelves in the cooler, and walk-in freezer.
  • Iron Hill Brewery, 130 E. Bridge St.: broken glass on the floor behind the wait station.
  • Sodexo Valley Forge Christian College: 1401 Charlestown Road: water damage in bathrooms, a leak in wall unit.
