Health Inspections In Phoenixville Area In November

PHOENIXVILLE, PA —Health inspectors paid visits to numerous establishments in the Phoenixville area in October.

Inspectors found some establishments to violate health codes set by the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture.

Here are the results of October inspections by the Chester County Department of Health:

• Iron Hill Brewery: 130 E. Bridge St.: 6 violations on Nov. 29: no adequate knowledge of food safety, areas need cleaning, debris on walls behind cook lines, need hand wash sinks, light out in pizza oven, need chemical located in designated area.
• Restaurant Mexicano El Burrito Inc.: 180 Bridge St., 6 violations: food handlers not washing hands, raw meat in a container near the dishwasher, wet wiping cloths, no sanitizer strips, food debris stored in handwash sink.
• Phoenixville Cafe: 106-108 Bridge St.; 17 violations: no adequate knowledge of food safety, hand wash sink blocked by food cart, cook not wearing hair restraint, lunch meat in liquid debris, soup steam in unapproved food prep area, wet wipes clothes scattered, food marked with dates past original dates, working containers storing chemicals, no certified food manager.
• LaPatrona Mexican Restaurant and Tequila Bar: 400 Bridge St.: 16 violations: food handlers not washing hands, food employees not in the kitchen, buffet line not protected, juice containers unlabeled, dry goods not labeled, wet clothes in the kitchen, dirty dishes near sanitizer bay, grease dripping, leaky faucet, hand sink filled with food containers, fly strip attached to wall near sink, and more.
• TCHS Pickering: 1580 Charlestown Road: Milk not stored at proper temperature, trash need to be disposed of.
• Penn Street Pizza: 235 Schuylkill Road: cornmeal storage lacks food label, cup used to scoop cornmeal, dust on pizza oven, mold in sink, toilet not in men’s room, no certified food manager.
• VF Post #1564: 200 Starr St.: 1 violation: damaged wall under microwave
• Slovak American Club: 310 Gold St.: Debris in beer cooler
• Schuylkill Elementary School: 290 S. White Horse Road: 1 violation; refrigerator not at the correct temperature.
• First United Methodist Church: 865 S. Main St.: 4 violations: mold on ice machine and sink, leak in plumbing line.
